Education and Childhood Memories:

P V 2008

PV school days
My Basic education was in Malayalam, a popular regional language in Kerala, one of India's southern states.  I have completed my Pre -University  education in English from St. Aloysius College, Edathua, Kerala, and  finished higher studies from Osmania University Hyderabad and Ranchi university). I have secured my Postgraduate diploma in Journalism from The Rajendra Prasad Institute of Mass Communication (Bhavan’s College) in Hyderabad.

I was an avid reader in my early days, and many of my Knols capture the memories of this time.
My Mother
As an example, you can read A Brief Memoir of My Mother. Saramma Verghese.  She was my source of inspiration in my writings, especially on my spiritual writings she had a great influence.

M E Cherian Sir

I also started translating a knol series on Computer basics written by Gust MEES and Knol Publishing Guild (KPG)
More of my Malayalam Knols you can read here: Malayalam Knol Directory.

Apart from this directory, the other day I created a Malayalam Knol Home Page.  Included the Malayalam Knol authors link. For more information, please visit at this link here

A Word  About My Involvement with Google's Knol:

Though I have joined knol on September 23rd 2008 I was inactive for quite sometime and recently I started contributing again and it’s really interesting and encouraging to interact with people here, though I had some unpleasant experiences with few, but that was a blessing in disguise and it helped me to go further with more vigor and enthusiasm. And within a short span I could make it to the ‘Top Viewed Author Award’ list and could make comments and reviews to the other authors at knol.  I now introduce and encourage my friends and other contacts to join this community called KNOL  Though knol is still in its infancy thousands of contributors are already joined and it is a fast growing website to acquire genuine and trustworthy information about anything in this universe.  There is a good response to my call and few are already here with their knols on my invitation and doing a tremendous job here.
I take this opportunity to invite my other friends and readers to actively involve here at knol as well as to tell about this to their friends and relatives.  Knol is a wonderful place to air your knowledge, views on any subject.  Read More on this line- at my Official. Bio-knol

A Word About My Writing Experience:

The role of the Hindu newspaper describes some new experiences I had after leaving my native place. As I have mentioned in one of these Knols, I slowly shifted my writing from Malayalam to English. A good number of my works were published in the print media, and have procured many literary prizes for my writings.  My work has appeared in newspapers, weeklies, magazines and on the web, mainly on the Christian religion and the subjects related to the Bible. I have also concentrated on subjects like current affairs, social problems and politics with many of my political articles appearing in different print media. Some of them can be read at this link here at knol. Some of my Write-ups (Published and unpublished) - Part I

Before joining Knol I was an active member and source/content producer for the site called Associatedcontent.com (AC).  I really enjoyed being with people there and had good rapport with many co-writers there.  From AC, I secured a good number of contacts in the writing field and I still maintains those relationships.  Two of the AC authors interviewed me. My first interview was with Mr. Donald Pennington of USA. Donald is an active member and source/content producer/contributor at AC, and a top 1000 and Hot 500 badge holder. Read more @ this link about that interview. Ladies and gentlemen P.V.Ariel
Another interview was published at AC by another Associated content writer Sheryl Young. She is a well known Jewish author and freelance writer and a three time Amy Foundation “Roaring Lambs” Writing Award Winner. She is also a Concerned Women for America 2002 Special Projects Award recipient. Sheryl is the Author of the book “What Every Christian Should Know About The Jewish People” Read more @ this link. Sheryl Young

I found three or four important suggestions from a successful Hub page author.

1. Give a twitter message for every article.
2. Give tags. In our case categories for every article.
3. Create backlinks on at least three platforms and on your blog.

I have too many knols. So I cannot post many backlinks. But some authors can follow the advice. It looked very logical to me.

Now, my project on Knol is Knol textbooks and Knol Books of readings. Textbooks take a lot of time. But they are required. Knol books of reading will be good to help many authors by collecting their knols at one place in a book form and inform the student community. This work has good meaning and potential and I shall be busy with both of them for years to come.

I just started a book on cost accounting for instance.
http://knol.google.com/k/narayana-rao-k-v-s-s/cost-accounting-knol-book-of-readings/2utb2lsm2k7a/3259#

It is useful to support a training course that I just conducted last week. So far I did not find others' articles but in other chapters some articles by other authors will come. These collections also show scope to authors to write fresh articles.

With best regards.

Doing something more on marketing of knol articles of all authors. Creating a directory of knol collections and books

Added your name to list of knol authors with interestng knols.

http://knol.google.com/k/narayana-rao-k-v-s-s/interesting-and-useful-knols-authors/2utb2lsm2k7a/3940#view

While all known authors will find a place in the list in due course of time, I request you to suggest any unusual names, authors whose work you like and appreciate. Even an author with one knol is to be accounted. As we want to accumulate 25,000 knols with useful content in English language. Hope similar exercise will be carried out in other languages and we are able to accumulate 50,000 knols with useful content. There is potential to get 250,000 page view per day for these knols provided proper marketing is done for them. First finding them is the challenge.

Knol Biodata

Mr. Ariel

Please link this knol as bio knol on your profile.
I thought of an idea. Each knol author can choose a theme and promote knols and knol writing in that area.

http://knol.google.com/k/narayana-rao-k-v-s-s/-/2utb2lsm2k7a/2178#

What area would you like to choose to promote knols and knol writing?

Dear Prof.
Thanks for this new intimation and the new idea.
I have already posted my area of interest in the comment column, hope you checked it, and I posted about this knol info in my twitter page and it will take it to my facebook page, and about other places i will do it shortly. By the way there is a great difficulty I am facing here is giving below, this problem has been posted to few other related places too. One of the main problem is that, take the case of yourself, you are already in my favourites list, but alas if you publish a new knol i do not get any intimation about it, the only option available here is one has to undergo a manual search, i feel its a tedious job and in the long run it will be more difficult. so pl look into the following comment:

THE COMMENT I POSTED GIVEN BELOW:

I have a small request/suggestion to share with you and my fellow authors here @knol. I am here since 2008 September, I am really enjoyed being an associate with this wonderful site called “knol”. The communication between co-authors are so encouraging. Happy to say that everyone here is so co-operating in giving suggestions, comments and advises. A small difficulty I faced here is that, if a person post his or her knol there is no intimation about it to his fellow authors and regular readers/visitors (I mean his favorites/fan or subscribers). Most of the social sites, including google’s orkut etc. are providing this facility to its users, why can’t knol too provide such facilities to its users, so that if an author publish his knol others can immediately look into it and air their suggestions, comments, rating etc if he gets an email intimation through his personal id or through his knol.. unfortunately now one has to manually go thru each and every favs or fans. I am sure this will be a tedious process to the busy authors in the long run. Knol platform should seriously think about it and do something to help the knolers. I have made this known to some of my contacts and favs here, most of them expressed it’s a good thing to do and knol should take initiative in this.

One more thing I wanted to make note is that if suppose an author wants to communicate with another author its only possible thru the “write a comment button”, suppose one author wanted to inform something which others do not want to read, its only possible by requesting his email thru comment page, I think this too is not a good practice, since some do not want to publicize their email id on web pages. In such cases, like orkut or facebook, if knol can provide an inbox facility, this will definitely an added advantage to the authors as well as to the readers.

Hope and trust that knol help can give some solutions to this problems
Best
Philip V Ariel
